Message from Pathfinder School Counselor, Ms. DeJardin

"Hello! I am Dori DeJardin and I support teachers, students, and families at Pathfinder in finding solutions to help each student be successful at our school. I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself, so you are aware of who I am and how I can support you and your student."

As an Elementary School Counselor, Dori's role is to support the social-emotional and behavioral well-being of our students. One of Dori's main areas of focus is helping students cope with big feelings and self-regulation so they are ready to learn. She works with students individually, in small groups, and through whole-group classroom lessons. She is also available to consult with parents and teachers. If a family feels they need more resources or therapy outside of school, Dori can offer a list of mental health and other service providers in the community who may be able to help. If you have any concerns regarding your student's well-being, please don't hesitate to reach out to Dori at dejardindz@mukilteo.wednet.edu or (425) 366-3822.

My role at the school is to connect our families to the resources they need to support your student's academic success. Some of these resources include food and clothing needs, as well as help with available community resources.
If your family is experiencing food insecurity or have any questions, please reach out to Sandra at holzersm@mukilteo.wednet.edu or (425)356-6653."

Learning Compact- Partnership Agreement

Below is the Learning Partnership for Pathfinder, developed by our team. Please review the partnership responsibilities with your child. At your child's conference, there will be a copy of this document for you to sign to show your commitment in working together toward your child's school success.

We look forward to great success by working together with you and your child.

Sincerely,
Pathfinder Staff

Reminder- Pathfinder School Picture Retake Day

School photos will be sent home next week. If your child missed picture day on October 21 & 22, or would like to have their photo retaken, school picture retakes will take place the morning of Tuesday, December 2nd.

If you already ordered photos but your child wasn't at school on picture day, you don't need to do anything. Your child will have their picture taken December 2.

If your child is having retakes, please have them bring their original photo packet to school on December 2 to return to the photographers. There is no cost for retakes unless you are planning to keep the original photo packet too, in which case you will need to place another order for the new photos using the link below.

If you order from the link below, a photo will be taken of your student on December 2. These orders must be made by 10pm the day BEFORE picture day.

The link above is not for the original photos that were taken October 21 & 22. If you would like to order more of the original photos, please use the form enclosed in the photo packet you will receive next week.

If you have any questions, please email KIDS Photography at Hello@KIDSschoolPhotos.com

We Are Thankful For You

Dear Families,
We are thankful for you!
Following weekends and school closures, it can be difficult for many students to return to school due to a change in their daily routine.  Young students thrive when predictable routines are in place. Daily routines are essential for reducing stress and creating a sense of security.
If your child is healthy, please encourage him/her to attend class, even on sad or difficult days, when school is in session. Every day of school is an important opportunity for students to learn as well as connect with peers and teachers.
We thank:
·        Our students and their families who do their best to show up to class every day, even on challenging days.
·        Our teachers who have gone above and beyond to create a welcoming learning environment where students can thrive.
·        Our principal who motivates everyone to never give up, try their best, and makes us feel safe and supported.
·        Our healers and helpers - the support staff and community volunteers who provide the extra hands and attention our children need.

If your child or family needs support or help, please reach out to our school counselor (Dori DeJardin), our Family Liaison (Sandra Holzer), or our Dean of Students (Melissa Walker).

Sincerely,
 The Pathfinder Team

Cold Weather is Here!

Please be sure to send students to school in appropriate clothes for colder weather. Please label coats, sweatshirts, hats, and gloves with student's name so that items may easily be returned to them. If your family or your child needs support with warm clothing, please reach out to the teacher or contact the Pathfinder office at (425) 366-3800.
