Student Technology Use and Care Acknowledgement

Complete the annual Student Technology Use and Care form today

Students in the Mukilteo School District have access to laptop computers and other devices for learning! Secondary students in grades 6-12 check out and transport their laptops between school and home. Elementary students will have access to laptops in their classroom to use throughout the day. While Elementary laptops will remain at school most of the time, there may be instances when Elementary students will take their laptops home.

The purpose is to increase access and ensure that each student has a device readily available to support their learning. It is essential to note that while students will have immediate access to laptops, it does not mean that teachers will use them 100 percent of the time for instructional purposes.

Parents and guardians, please take a moment to complete the annual Student Technology Use and Care Acknowledgement form today.

WiFi Modernization Districtwide

Faster, more reliable internet now available in classrooms

Thanks to our incredible technology team and support from the 2020 bond, wireless connections for student learning have been modernized districtwide. This means faster, more reliable internet access in classrooms, empowering students and educators to engage with digital tools seamlessly. Whether it's accessing online curriculum, collaborating on projects, or participating in virtual learning experiences, these upgrades ensure that technology supports teaching and learning.

We’re grateful to our technology team for working behind the scenes all summer to make this happen, and we’re excited about what it means for your child’s learning this year.

Windows 11 Updates

Time to charge your school devices

All district laptops, including those for middle and high school students are now ready to receive the Windows 11 upgrade.

Before school starts, please have your student restart their device, plug it in to power, and leave it on for a few days so the update finishes smoothly.

You will know that the device has been upgraded when your background looks like the blue "swirly" screen shown above.

Student Password Change Complete

Check for your personalized message

As shared last week, all student passwords were reset to their default settings yesterday. Each family received a personalized message through ParentSquare with instructions on how to access their child's account.

Students in grades 3–12 will be required to change their password from the default the next time they log in. If you have any questions or need assistance, please reach out to your child’s school.

Student Technology Fines and Responsibilities

Keep your devices in great shape

We know how important technology is for learning, and we appreciate your support in helping students care for their district-issued devices. Just like with textbooks and library materials, students are expected to keep their laptops and other equipment in good condition.

If a device is lost, damaged, or intentionally vandalized, a fine may be issued based on district guidelines outlined in the Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook and School Board Policy 3520 and Procedure 3520P.

The Student Computer Care Guidelines has great information about how we work together to keep technology in great shape!
